Today was going to be a shorter day for me, to get some rest. The day was beautiful, the sun was shining the whole day and it was really warm outside. I started on my trip for today, after some coffee and a nice breakfast at Sue's place. After breakfast Sue gave me some recommendations on my route for the day and I left for Rutland,VT. The route today manly followed VT 131 and VT 103.The traffic wasn't too bad, but the road conditions were in part way worse than yesterday. In general the route was similar to yesterday and was going along a river, through forests and beautiful small towns Only difference being, that today it was not as much up and down, it was going up in beginning and down at the end. Only the end of the route, getting into Rutland on US 4 was not so nice. On those last few meters I got my first flat tire of this journey. I didn't react fast enough to avoid one of the many potholes and my rear wheel tire went flat. Because I was already close to the motel I planned on staying at for the night, I didn't repair the tire at the spot but instead walked the last few meters to the motel and repaired it there. After I checked in and changed the tube, I went to a bike shop in town to buy some new bike gloves, since I lost mine on day one.

Conclusion for the day:

Avoid those nasty potholes, they will ruin your tires.
