After two days cycling in the sun, the rain was back today. The day started out dry but thick clouds were already hanging in the sky and after about an hour into the trip the rain started. But at least the temperatures were comfortable, so I didn't have a problem with getting cold. Although there was rain today, the wind favored me again and continued to come from the east.

Today I didn't manage to get an early start into the day, because in the morning after breakfast I realized that I have forgotten to charge the GPS. So I had wait until the GPS was charged, before I could start on my route to Wabash,IN. Even though I got a late start I still managed to arrive by 3pm in Wabash, due to the tailwinds today.

The route today, stayed on small roads, for a few miles even on unpaved roads. So there was again only limited traffic, just a bit of local traffic. The majority of the roads were in pretty good condition, so the ride was quite comfortable throughout the day. The route today was for the most part flat again and went through farmland, just as it did the last two days. The scenery only changed for a while when I reached the Salamonie River State Forest. Here the route went over the Salamonie Dam and than through the forest. The road through the forest was not as straight and not as flat as it was the rest of the day, which was nice for a change. The rest of the route until I reached Wabash, went again through farmland.

Since I arrived early, I had some time to relax a bit, before I went out to eat. Close to the motel I stayed at was a really good Mexican restaurant, so I went there. It was nice to eat something different from what I had eaten over the last few weeks.

Conclusion for the day:

Best to already check in the evening, if you got everything ready for the next day.
