I'm
already into week four, wow time goes by fast. During the last week I
have been cycling in three different states (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois)
and went for the most part through farmland, with the exception of
last Monday when I have been in Cleveland. I was fortunate enough to
meet great people along the way last week. Let's see what this week
will bring.
Today
I had quite a long route, so I got up early this morning and left the
motel early. Again the weather wasn't great, not that it was cold but
it was just gray and hazy. It stayed like this for the whole day, in
contrast to the last two days I didn't stay dry. There was a light
drizzle every ones in the while and some more rain at noon. But in
general it wasn't too bad. The wind was again in my favor, so that I
could keep a high average speed throughout the day. This had me
arrive early in Streator,IL, I would have thought that it will take
me longer to cover the distance.
Just
as the last few day's I was cycling through farmland the whole day.
The route stayed again on small roads, but today's route also went on
a few more frequented roads with truck traffic. It still was not to
bad to ride on these roads with the bike. I passed a few more towns
today, but probably the highlight today was crossing paths with the
Route 66. The rest of the day was again quite uneventful. I ended the
day in Streator,IL, but I had to leave the Northern Tier route again
to get to there.
No conclusion of the day? :(
