No rain today! The day started out cloudy but the the weather has gotten better and better throughout the day and after a while the sun came out. It was perfect weather for cycling. Even the wind was in my favor today, since the wind came from the east, I had tailwinds for most of the day.  That meant I could really cover some distance fast, but still I only did a short ride today to give my legs some rest.

Today's route was completely flat and stayed for most of the time on smaller roads with almost no traffic. The roads were in general in good condition, so that the ride today was nice and easy. Just like in the second half of yesterdays tour I passed mainly through farmland throughout the day. On the way I passed through a few small towns along the way. In Pemberville,OH, one of the towns I passed through, I stopped to take a picture of the city hall and just as I wanted get on the bike again an older man was signaling me to wait. As he approached, he asked if I wanted to go inside and see the opera. Since I had time I went along inside, on the way he told me that the building is from the 1800s and is still standing in it's original form. He was really proud to show me the opera which was in the second floor of the building and was as well still all original. It was a really nice theater and interesting to see. I wouldn't have expected something like this in a small town like Pemberville. I'm glad that he stopped me and offered to show me the place. As I continued, I reached the river Maumee and stayed by the river all the way to my destination, Napoleon,OH. Just before I entered Napoleon, a giant soup can was standing by the road. The can was there because there is a Campbell facility in Napoleon. Even thou I did ride mainly trough farmland , it was still a nice scenery. Probably my opinion of this will change, after a few days of only farmland around me.

Tonight I didn't stay at a motel but used again Warmshowers to find a host for the night. So I ended up staying with Doug a really nice guy who owns a bar in Napoleon. So after a shower and some rest I joined him in the bar for something to eat and a few beers. Since today was trivia night I joined in on that as well. I got to meet some of his friends, and I had a fun night out. It was nice not to stay at a motel for a change.

Conclusion for the day:

Sometimes the wind can be your friend and sometimes your worst enemy.
