Another day in Montana and being surrounded by farmland/grassland. After the short days during the last few days, I had to cover a longer distance, today. Still with the tailwinds it wasn't too hard and I arrived again early in my destination for the day. I arrived in Malta,MT at around 1:30pm. I will probably not arrive quite as early tomorrow, since I will have to cover about 90 miles.

Again a later start into the day after watching some Fifa World Cup in the morning and a really nice breakfast. At breakfast I met a touring cyclist on his way to Bemidji, to visit his son. He was just on his way to leave when I came to breakfast, so we only talked for a short while. He wanted to get going, since he had to deal with some strong headwinds on his way east. A little bit later on my route I saw another touring cyclist going east and fighting against the wind. I was quite happy to have the wind on my side again. Hopefully it will stay like this for the longer day tomorrow. The ride was again quite uneventful, I stayed the whole time on US2 and there was just farmland/grassland along the way. Most of the time there was a wide shoulder, so the traffic on US2 didn't bother me too much. The only thing that bothered me were all the Mosquitoes. Today I was bitten by so many Mosquitoes, it was the first time on my trip I really had an issue with Mosquitoes. Let's see how it will be during the next few days.

Conclusion for the day:

I really need to get some insect repellent.
