This morning my legs felt a bit sore, what is understandable after the long day yesterday, but the route today wasn't going to be too hard. After the long day yesterday, I decided it would be okay to have a late start into the day and have some more time to recover. The route was almost completely flat and not really long, so I was able to take it easy.

After I usually was able to start with a decent breakfast into the day, the breakfast this morning wasn't good. Not the best way to start in the day, but still my first few miles on the bike today went really well. I started my day on the bike with a longer stretch on a separate bike trail, after I already stayed for most of yesterdays route on bike trails. I stayed all the way from Paynesvill to Willmar on the the Glacier Lakes State Trail. The ride on the trail was nice and on the trail I was shielded from the wind most of the time. While on the trail I could see regularly markers on the side of the trail, the markers were there to honor fallen soldiers from Minnesota. The scenery along the trail was again beautiful, although I didn't pass by as many lakes as the last few days. After I reached Willmar I stayed on HWY 23 until I reached Clara City, and than on HWY 7 all the way to Montevideo. The ride on the highway wasn't as enjoyable as the ride on the trail. On both highways there was a lot of traffic, and although there was a wide shoulder, I didn't feel to comfortable on the highway. I also wasn't shielded from the wind anymore, the wind came manly from the side, nonetheless it made it harder to keep the speed up.

When I arrived in Montevideo I didn't go straight to the hotel I first cruised aroud the city a bit, to see what is still there and how much has changed since my last visit to Montevideo I still could find my way around town, even without the GPS. I was surprised how much I could still remember. In the evening I relaxed a bit with a few beers at the brewery in town. A great way to end the day.

Conclusion for the day:

It is amazing how much I could still remember about Montevideo and how easy it was for me to find my way around town.
