Another warm and sunny day. The last couple days the weather has been great, I hope it will stay like this for a while. It is almost too warm to be on the bike. So it is perfect weather for spending the day tomorrow on the lake. Anyway I only have one day on the bike left and I think I can manage that, even if it is going to be a really warm day.

From Olympia to the cottage, where I will stay until Monday, I only had to cover about 40 miles (65 km). When I arrived at the cottage it was still too early to check in and I still had to get grocery's. The closest place to get grocery's was about 5 miles from the cottage,so this added about 10 miles to today's route. 50 miles still doesn't sound too difficult, but I had again to deal with quite a bit of up and down on my route and today there were a few really steep climbs (up to 15% gradient) to master. These steep climbs made the route harder than I originally anticipated. Still with the sun and the fantastic scenery on my route, I enjoyed the ride very much. After I left Olympia most of today's route went again through forest areas and stayed either on smaller roads or roads with a nice wide shoulder.

The cottage I'm staying at is great. It is right at the lake front, so I have a direct access to the lake. Today I already took the opportunity and went for a nice swim right after I arrived at the cottage. It is so nice to take a swim after a day on the bike. The water wasn't cold at all, I could have stayed in the lake forever. Now I'm just chilling on the Patio looking over the lake and writing this blog entry.

Conclusion for the day:

I could get used to relaxing at the lake, after a day on a bike.
