Date: 12.07.2018
Altitude: 3586.0 ft (1093 m)
Distance: 110.22 mi (177.38 km)

Total Distance: 4927.20 mi (7929.54 km)

Today was a really long and tough day on the Olympic Peninsula. Not what I had originally planned, but there were just not that many places for me to stay the night between Forks and Aberdeen. After I almost didn't find a place in Forks last night, I already anticipated in the morning that it could become a long day. I really didn't think that it would be that hard to find a place for the night. Since I went all the way to Aberdeen, I'm a day ahead of schedule. Originally I planned to do the 110 miles in two days, so I will have to figure out what I will do with the extra day.

Today I got an early start, since I already expected that it could become a long day. Still I stopped for breakfast, shortly after I left the motel. I really needed a nice big breakfast, since I didn't know when I would have a chance to get something else to eat on today's route. After breakfast I got on my way and stayed on the highway for the whole day. No bike paths, today. Just like the last few days there was a lot of traffic on the route. But the road conditions were good and the weather was perfect, so it was still a good ride. The up and down on the route continued, this in combination with the long distance made the ride really tough. I was happy when I finally arrived in Aberdeen and could get some rest. I would say, this was one of the toughest days on my trip. The scenery was similar to the last few days until I came closer to Aberdeen and I was surrounded by a more residential area. Even though I was quite exhausted when I arrived, I still enjoyed the ride.

Conclusion for the day:

Even after more than two months on the bike, 100+ miles in a day is still not an easy task.
